LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In my first few weeks as Executive Director of American Friends of ALYN Hospital, I've had the privilege of speaking with many of our longtime supporters. Whether their connection began through Wheels of Love, a family experience, or decades of involvement with the hospital, each conversation has offered a glimpse into a remarkable community united by a shared belief in the potential of every child.
I came to this role because I believe deeply in the power of mission-driven organizations to change lives. What I've discovered so quickly is that ALYN's greatest strength is not only the world-class care it provides, but also the extraordinary community of supporters, volunteers, families, and advocates who make that care possible. Together, we are creating opportunities, independence, and brighter futures for children and families every day.
ALYN YOUNG PROFESSIONALS BUILDS MOMENTUM IN LOS ANGELES
American Friends of ALYN Hospital partnered with Nice Jewish Surfers for a Shabbat dinner and after-party in Los Angeles, gathering 90 young professionals for dinner and 119 more for the after-party. The event aimed to strengthen ALYN’s Young Professionals presence in the city. Alex shared Noam's inspiring story, a 16-year-old from Be’er Sheva who is rehabilitating at ALYN Hospital after a life-altering accident, highlighting the hospital's commitment to helping children regain strength and hope.
GRANTS FOR ALYN
Grants are essential for American Friends of ALYN Hospital to provide rehabilitation care for children with physical disabilities. While funding opportunities are actively pursued, meaningful relationships often start from personal connections. If you know any foundations or organizations that might support ALYN's work, an introduction would be appreciated. These partnerships help ensure children receive necessary therapies and support. WHEELS OF LOVE '26
Interested in learning more about Wheels of Love, hiking, and the impact of ALYN Hospital?
This year, we are bringing back hiking as an option for those who want to participate but prefer not to ride. Guided by the same outstanding tour guide who leads Heels of Love, hikers will have the opportunity to explore Eilat’s breathtaking landscapes with their feet firmly on the ground.
Want to learn more? In April, we hosted a Wheels of Love information session featuring ALYN Hospital leadership and staff, who shared updates on the hospital’s work, the children and families it serves, and how rehabilitation services have continued throughout the challenges of the ongoing war.
