90 Years of AFAH

Our History

For 90 years, American support has been crucial to ALYN Hospital's mission of serving children with disabilities in Israel. Founded in 1932 by Dr. Henry Keller, a New York orthopedic surgeon, ALYN expanded to a modern facility in 1971 thanks to Malcolm and Dorothy Woldenberg, Jewish community leaders from New Orleans. The American Friends of ALYN Hospital (AFAH), established in 1934, continues to play a vital role in ALYN's success.
