MORE THAN A HOSPITAL
Just over two weeks after beginning my role as Executive Director of American Friends of ALYN Hospital, I boarded a plane to Israel with my family. The trip had been planned long before I accepted this position, but one stop quickly became the centerpiece of our visit: ALYN Hospital.
We spent only one morning there. It was, in many ways, just a glimpse—a swim in the shallow end of an institution whose depth and impact cannot be fully appreciated in a single visit. Yet that morning profoundly shaped my understanding of the extraordinary privilege and responsibility of representing ALYN.
Building a Summer Without Barriers
Summer has a way of bringing back childhood memories. Riding bikes until the streetlights came on. Running through sprinklers. Jumping into the pool. Building sandcastles at the beach. Climbing playgrounds, chasing friends through the park, and heading off to summer camp with your best friends and a load of mosquito bites.
While one child is struggling with an intense brain freeze after eating ice cream too quickly, another is wondering whether they'll ever walk again.

As Jordan learned more about ALYN’s innovative approach to pediatric rehabilitation and its commitment to serving children from every background, he saw a meaningful connection between ALYN’s work, his family’s legacy, and his own path toward becoming a physician.
WHEELS OF LOVE '26
Interested in learning more about Wheels of Love, hiking, and the impact of ALYN Hospital?
This year, we are bringing back hiking as an option for those who want to participate but prefer not to ride. Guided by the same outstanding tour guide who leads Heels of Love, hikers will have the opportunity to explore Eilat’s breathtaking landscapes with their feet firmly on the ground.
Want to learn more? In April, we hosted a Wheels of Love information session featuring ALYN Hospital leadership and staff, who shared updates on the hospital’s work, the children and families it serves, and how rehabilitation services have continued throughout the challenges of the ongoing war.
