Spotlight: Victor Goldsmith
“...Wheels of Love is a must. It’s the best ride you’ll ever do.”
For Victor Goldsmith, Wheels of Love brings together two of the things that matter most to him: Israel and cycling.
“I participate in Wheels of Love because I’m a Zionist. My love for Israel is great, as is my passion for cycling, so Wheels of Love brings together two of my most important interests,” he says.
Victor’s Wheels of Love story began in 2007, when a friend invited him to participate for the first time. But it was at the end of that ride, when he arrived at ALYN Hospital, that he realized the experience went far beyond cycling.
“When I arrived at the hospital and saw the dedication of the staff and the incredible results, I fell in love with ALYN Hospital.”
Since then, Victor has returned year after year, inspired by the work he sees taking place throughout the hospital.
“The care given to the children—the doctors, the therapists—there is so much dedication, along with cutting-edge technology, professionalism, and so much compassion.”
Over the years, Wheels of Love has also become an opportunity to reconnect with a community that Victor now considers an essential part of the experience. Cyclists from Israel and around the world who began as fellow riders have become friends.
“It’s an unforgettable experience. As the years go by, you meet cyclists from Israel and many parts of the world who have become friends, and it’s a pleasure to spend time together at least once a year.”
Goldsmith has also made it a priority to bring more people along with him. His group, Beitzim, has varied in size over the years, but his goal has remained the same: to bring as many riders as possible and support ALYN Hospital.

Para Victor Goldsmith, Wheels of Love reúne dos de las cosas que más le importan: Israel y el ciclismo.
“Yo participo en Wheels of Love porque soy sionista. Mi amor a Israel es grande, al igual que mi pasión por la bicicleta, así que en Wheels of Love se juntaron dos de mis intereses más importantes”, cuenta.
Su historia con Wheels of Love comenzó en 2007, cuando un amigo lo invitó a participar por primera vez. Pero fue al final de aquel recorrido, al llegar al Hospital ALYN, cuando entendió que la experiencia iba mucho más allá de montar bicicleta.
“Cuando llegué al hospital y vi la entrega del personal y los resultados milagrosos, hizo que me enamorara del Hospital ALYN.”
Desde entonces, Victor ha regresado año tras año, inspirado por el trabajo que ve dentro del hospital.
“La atención que se brinda a los niños, los doctores, los terapeutas, tienen tanta dedicación, usando tecnología de punta, profesionalismo y mucho cariño.”
Con los años, Wheels of Love se convirtió en una oportunidad para reencontrarse con una comunidad que hoy considera parte fundamental de la experiencia. Ciclistas de Israel y de distintas partes del mundo que comenzaron como compañeros de ruta terminaron convirtiéndose en amigos.
“Es una experiencia inolvidable. Al pasar los años y al encontrarme con ciclistas de Israel y de muchas partes del mundo que ya se volvieron amigos, es un placer convivir por lo menos una vez al año con ellos.”
Goldsmith también ha buscado llevar a más personas consigo. Su grupo, Beitzim, ha variado de tamaño a través de los años, pero su objetivo siempre ha sido el mismo: sumar tantos ciclistas como pueda y apoyar al Hospital ALYN.
