A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Even in times of deep uncertainty, one thing never changes at ALYN: our unwavering commitment to the children who rely on us.

That commitment has been tested repeatedly over the past two years—most recently in response to the escalation with Iran. Yet through each wave of challenge, ALYN has remained fully operational, adapting swiftly and effectively to ensure the safety and care of our patients, families, and staff.

In some cases, this has meant adjusting policies on a daily basis in line with Home Front Command directives. During the most recent emergency, we:

  • Relocated the Respiratory Rehabilitation Department to our fortified underground shelter
  • Ensured day hospitalization and outpatient clinics operated only in areas within 90 seconds of protected spaces
  • Provided remote therapy for children safest remaining at home
  • Offered onsite childcare for essential staff while schools were closed nationwide
  • Delivered critical emotional support to patients, families, and staff through our dedicated social work and psychology teams

We were honored to learn that ALYN’s emergency response has been recognized by the Home Front Command as a model for other medical centers across Israel. It’s a powerful tribute to the professionalism, compassion, and resilience of our extraordinary team.

What has struck me most, though, is the depth of care shown day in and day out. ALYN is more than a hospital—it’s a family. In times of calm and crisis alike, people come together to do whatever is needed for the children—just as you would for your own family.

And you are part of this family. Your partnership makes it possible for us to respond in real time and to continue providing world-class rehabilitative care, even under the most difficult circumstances.

At American Friends of ALYN Hospital (AFAH), we are working to grow this circle of support through parlor meetings, young professional events, and community outreach across the country. If you are interested in helping us expand our efforts or hosting something in your city, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to hear from you.

We remain hopeful for quieter, more peaceful days ahead—and we will continue to keep you informed.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Am Yisrael Chai

SUPPORTING ISRAEL IN ISRAEL
