A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
It gives me a tremendous amount of pride to share the following story from one of my daughters who recently returned from visiting ALYN Hospital after spending six weeks as a volunteer in Israel. It is very exciting to see how much she learned about the hospital in a short, 2 ½ hour visit.
SPOTLIGHT ON ALISA'S VISIT
I went to ALYN a few weeks ago, at the end of my six-week volunteer trip to Israel. I was coming off a high, having finally had the chance to help my country while it is at war. I did not think anything would be able to match that high, but my visit to ALYN only pushed that high, higher.
My father, Adam Schwartz, is the director of American Friends of ALYN Hospital so I knew a bit about ALYN prior to my visit. From the start to the end of my visit, I was met with a warmth and friendliness that airs throughout the hospital. The staff and patients truly emit joy. Everyone is always smiling. The building is filled with colorful decorations and cheer.
PELE CELEBRATES 5 YEARS OF SOLUTIONS
The PELE track of the Innovation Space at ALYN Hospital opened its doors in 2018 and recently celebrated its 5th year of developing personalized adaptive solutions to increase the independence of children with disabilities. Happy anniversary to the PELE team for some amazing accomplishments!
