A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Did you know that August is National Make-A-Will Month? Everyone needs a will, and there’s no better time than now to find some peace of mind in planning for the future. Making a will gives you the opportunity to create a legacy – without costing you anything during your lifetime.
While you’re writing your will, you can join the amazing people who have already helped ALYN Hospital by including legacy gifts in their wills.
Everyone needs a will, and there’s no better time than now to find some peace of mind in planning for the future. Making a will gives you the opportunity to create a legacy – without costing you anything during your lifetime.
While you’re writing your will, you can join the amazing people who have already helped ALYN Hospital by including legacy gifts to ALYN. A planned gift from your estate to ALYN Hospital will ensure the long-term financial well-being of ALYN so that the hospital can continue to provide best-in-class therapies and remain at the forefront of technology-based solutions.
As a show of gratitude for this generous gesture, we award immediate recognition by means of placing a leaf on our symbolic Tree of Life. Planting a tree is a symbol of planning for future growth.
There are many options to leave a legacy for ALYN Hospital. To learn more about creating a legacy gift, visit our website to start your Legacy Planning or contact me, Adam Schwartz, by email: adam@alynus.org or at 212-869-8085.
What a wonderful opportunity to ensure the success of future generations of ALYN children!

SPOTLIGHT: THE CHALEM FAMILY - M’DOR L’DOR
The Chalem family (Marilyn, their daughter Vanessa and Gilbert) has a long history of supporting ALYN Hospital – with their hearts and their feet! When Vanessa was a child, she was moved by her father’s trips to Israel to participate in the Wheels of Love bike ride - the emotional stories and the pictures he’d share. His value of challenging oneself to make a difference in the world was passed on to Vanessa, and she has now become an avid supporter of ALYN Hospital and a participant in Wheels of Love rides as well. This summer, the Chalem family visited ALYN together, reinforcing their own commitment to the hospital.

HUMOR IN THERAPY
ALYN Hospital offers each child a comprehensive medical plan, integrating various specialist clinics for efficient care. To enhance treatment effectiveness, ALYN emphasizes “fun” therapy methods, transforming treatment into “play” rather than “work”. This approach includes Clown Therapy, introduced at ALYN in 2005, which has been shown to improve mood and reduce stress, making the children more receptive to their treatment.
In Israel, now, more than ever, the opportunity to laugh and be silly is happily welcomed and much needed. Ariel Keren, one of ALYN Hospital’s Medical Clowns, writes about the importance of humor in wartime.
